John Hogan has been an insurance broker for over 25 years, and president of HSHC since its inception almost 20 years ago. After earning his undergraduate degree from Quincy University, John received his MBA from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. He has also been a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) for 20 plus years. John specializes in personal and commercial insurance for all sizes and types of clients, in both Illinois and Missouri. John and his wife, Jenny, have four children, who keep them very busy. John enjoys coaching and watching his children play baseball, volleyball, basketball, and golf.

Mark Shoemaker Mark Shoemaker
Broker, CPCU, CIC
Mark is an insurance broker with 30 years experience in both the agency and company setting having worked in claims, underwriting, and now sales at HSHC. Over the years he has achieved the two highest professional designations in the insurance industry, Certified Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). He has the experience and knowledge to successfully meet the coverage needs of his clients, while helping reduce costs. Mark focuses on small to mid-size businesses for all types of commercial insurance. He also specializes in the personal insurance needs of the owners and employees. Mark and Linda, his wife of 30 plus years, are active in their church, The Crossing Chesterfield.

Eileen Toy Eileen Toy

Eileen Toy began her insurance career right out of high school in South St. Louis while attending college at night. She studied at Forest Park CC, Florissant CC and UMSL.  Her family consists of two children and three grandchildren. They all live in St. Charles, MO. From 1980 until 2005, Eileen was associated with the St. Charles County Youth Soccer Association, coaching boy’s recreational soccer. She was elected as Secretary to the SCCYSA Board of Directors in 1980 and elected Treasurer from 1981 until 1986. She was also elected Treasurer of the Missouri Youth Soccer Association from 1984 to 1986. She has been the President of Sherman Meadows Homeowners Association since 2004. Licensed in Life, Accident/Health, Property and Casualty in both Missouri and Illinois, Eileen specializes in guiding small businesses with their insurance plans.  She also assists many of her clients with their personal home, auto, life, health, and long term care needs.

John Higdon John Higdon
Broker, CIC
John Higdon started his insurance career as an agent with the Tagge Group of Springfield, Missouri.  While working with both commercial and personal line clients, John also attended Missouri State University. After graduating with his Bachelors in Finance, he moved to St. Louis and joined HSHC as an independent agent. John specializes in both business and personal insurance, and earned his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) Designation in March 2011. John and his wife Ashley live in Valley Park. John enjoys the outdoors, cooking, and coaching youth wrestling for the Parkway South Jr. Patriots.

Dick Boll Dick Boll
Broker, CPCU
A native of St. Louis, Dick Boll graduated from Washington University in 1964. He received his CPCU designation the same year. In 1966 Dick was appointed branch manager at Transamerica Insurance for the eastern Missouri and southern Illinois districts. Dick retired from Transamerica in 1990 and has spent the last 20 years in the brokerage setting with the Bland agency and HSHC as a producer. Witnessing many changes through his many years in the insurance industry, Dick firmly believes in the old axiom, "the more things change, the more they stay the same".

 


Kevin Pawlow Kevin Pawlow
Broker
Kevin started his insurance career after nearly 30 successful years in the transportation industry. With experience in both Commercial and Personal lines, Kevin has the resources to help clients in all industries and of all sizes. Kevin is also licensed to do business in both Illinois and Missouri. He attended and played basketball at Althoff High School in Belleville and Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. Kevin continues his love for and affiliation with the sport by serving as an official, working both high school and college games. He also coaches the Southwestern Illlinois Jets Basketball Club. Kevin is a proud father and enjoys coaching his daughter, Allie, and son, Jack, during their various sports. He also serves on the board for the National Foundation of Ectodermal Dysplasias, chairing for four years.
